5:00-7:00pm EST

Join accomplished American mezzo-soprano Katherine Ciesinski for a two-hour, synchronous Zoom masterclass focusing on the solos of Handel's Messiah

Katherine's experience with Handel’s Messiah dates from annual performances of various historic versions of the work with the Pennsylvania Pro Musica under the direction of University of Pennsylvania musicologist Franklin B. Zimmerman. She was alto soloist on the first digital recording of the work for RCA with Musica Sacra, under the baton of Richard Westenberg. She has given masterclasses focused on solo excerpts from Messiah and collaborated on annual Messiah-Sing performances at Eastman featuring student soloists and conductors.

There are two ways to participate in this masterclass:
as a singer or an attendee.

There are 5 singer spots in this class. Singers will have the opportunity to be coached by Katherine Ciesinski on any of the Messiah solos. An intimate setting like this is a wonderful way for singers to work on pieces they may be  preparing for auditions, performances or recording session.

Attendees have the wonderful opportunity to learn by watching, taking notes, and participate in the Q&A section of the masterclass.
